Andrew Knightly- "Traces of Hecke operators". ABSTRACT: There is a well-known formula for the trace of a Hecke operator acting on a space of cusp forms. It was originally proved by Eichler for the case of level 1 using the Selberg trace formula, and in general by Hijikata in 1974. I will discuss a proof of the formula using more modern methods provided by Arthur's trace formula. |
