On the subject of "me"

My name is Dan. I am currently a fifth-year graduate student in the math department at the University of Rochester. I study partial differential equations under the direction of my advisor, Dan-Andrei Geba.

Research

My research is in the area of nonlinear PDEs which arise from physics. In particular, I have done some work on skyrmions, a modification of the nonlinear sigma model, also known as wave maps. I have a paper posted on the Arxiv on the non-concentration of energy of skyrmions, which I co-authored with my advisor, Dan-Andrei Geba. In addition, I am working on the Adkins-Nappi model -- another modification of the nonlinear sigma model -- for my dissertation.
